Today I had a dentist appointment so I didn't get to go home to see my boy during lunch. I was lucky enough though to have my mother go to let him out. She said the whole time he kept running to the door as if to say "Where's my mommy?? Is she out there??" I felt happy knowing that he was looking for me, but at the same time I felt sad because I wasn't there for him.
Well anyway, the dentist appointment went great. I had a cleaning and all was well. I had to get a prescription for a special flouride brand of toothpaste though. So after work I went home, fed the pets and then I went over to the store to pick up the prescription.
Being the typical boxer mommy, I had to get something for Riley. I mean what boxer owner honestly goes to the store without getting a little something for the "kids"?? So, I decided to get him a Dentabone. I figured it's been quite a while since he's had one so it'll be a nice treat for him.
Well, when I got home he was out in the front yard playing (my father was there supervising him) and then he spotted me. I love seeing him charging at me like the silly boy that he is. When he spotted my grocery bag he really started to go nuts. He started running circles all around me touching the bag as he went by. It's like he knew I had something special for him. He's a smart boy, he knows that plastic bags equal something good for him.

That's funny! Our Jazzy does the same thing, when we get home from the grocery store or if we have any bags she just knows that there is something in there for her! She turns in circles and sniffs the bags. She usually finds the one with her treats!!:p

Every Friday I go food shopping and I bring Aus home a Jumbone. He knows when he sees the yellow bags come in there is a bonie for him! He sticks his head in all the bags waiting for it! Nobody ever said Boxers were dummies!:p

Subi and Bailey do the same thing. Usually when pat and i go out whether it is the grocery store or whatever we will pick the girls up a little something. we can not walk in the door without them going through the bags, if by chance we didnt get them anything they do this BIG *sigh* and walk off in a huff, almost like to say "how can you leave us and not get us anything" spoiled little girls!!

Riley is a smart boy. They know when something is good in the bag. I know every week when I come home from food shopping, Ginger, will sniff and put her whole head in the bag.:D

Scrapper's Mom

Whenever I come home from the store, Scrapper knows there might be a new toy or pig ear in there for him. One time I got back from Target with about 5 bags that I just dropped right inside the door. About fifteen minutes later I saw him coming around the corner with his new toy that I had gotten him there in his mouth. Nothing else was disturbed.

Scrapper's mom-

I can relate. I went to petsmart and picked up some treats and such for the girls. And while i was there they had this stuff animal with a bongee cord as the body and the head was a boxer. so pat got it for me as a present. i dont know what we were doing but as soon as we got home we started doing something and i didnt unpack the bags, like 10 minutes later i notice it was kind of quiet and i go to check on the girls.

They went in the bag, ignored all the goodies and took my stuff animal :( so here i am looking at them playing tug or war and deciding whether or not i will take it and keep it for myself or just give to them, needless to say they kept it, everytime i would go to hold it or try to play with it, i got attacked, they must have known mommy was going to take her present back :)

Same here, if we come home shopping and hold a set of bags, Unda will go crazy.., his tail (aye, ours has a full tail, legally not allowed to take it off anymore at birth here in the Netherlands) will swoop like a whip and he'll go for the bags at once :D
