Do your guys/girls ever act strange when it comes to getting into a position of comfort? I'll be laying on the sofa and Buster will just keep walking back and forth all over me. He'll stand on my chest/neck/throat/face etc. and just gaze off in the distance as if I'm going to allow it. I have no problem with him laying down on me, but sometimes this behavior is just downright annoying. I think I feel this way because i don't understand it. This only happens about once a week and I have no idea what triggers it. Anyone with similar experiences/ideas? Oh yeah, one thing that we have noticed too is that the situation usually presents itself if either me or my wife is on one sofa and the other on a different sofa. When we get together, he'll usually settle. Then we have 3 of us on a sofa and an entirely different comfort issue.

Its either o.k. or its not o.k. The dog doesnt know the difference. I would never let one stand on me or lay on me any time. It sounds like it might be a dominance issue. I do remember that Titus did something simular once and it turned out he had a bladder infection and he was trying to get our attention because he felt like he had to used go all the time. If its just a attention issue I would stop it. Just keep a eye on him and see what happens. I have found that keeping a tablet close by and writing things down about behavior issues and what time they occur helps me.

Riley thinks I am her personal couch...sometimes she starts with one arm and works her way up to her whole body on me and other times she just jumps up and plops down on me like its the most natural thing in the world! As I type, I am stuffed up against the arm of the couch so I can play on the computer while my little cuddle monkey takes a snooze. Gotta love 'em!

I don't think it's anything to worry about. Roxy does the same thing. I think it has to do with them always wanting to be near you. And if there is no where else to lay down....well, of course her bed is on the floor but she pretends its not there. If my husband is in his chair and I am on the couch, Roxy will usually either go sit with Dad on the chair (she likes to use his belly as a pillow) or she will curl up next to me on the couch. But if my husband is laying down on the couch then she jumps right up there and does the same exact thing. I think she stands there for a bit to make sure someone's not going to say "Down"! Yeah, it's annoying sometimes but at least I know we're loved! I really don't think it's a health issue.

That's so funny, our Diesel does the same thing. A lot of the time, if I am standing up, he'll back up until he can't go any farther back, and then plop down on my feet. He almost knocks me down every time he does this, but it cracks me up!! He's 70lbs and doesn't realize he's that heavy. When I tell him he's too big to be doing stuff like that, he just looks up at me like "Me? Too big?". He's such a BABY!!!!

Beau tries to stand on my constantly! I think he has no idea it is uncomfortable for me. He does it a lot when I'm under the covers in bed. I don't think he realizes I'm there. It cracks me up. I'll sit up and he'll look at me like HEY-where did you come from?
