Around Christmas time I attended a party and someone there asked me how my dog was because they hadn't seen me walking her. Well the tear just started to flow as I attempted to explain how we had lost just her in November. My sadness made another neighbor tell me of the loss of her dog 18 years ago. She still missed him. She then told me of the above book and thought it might help me. I received the book as a gift at Christmas and read it cover to cover in a day. I can honestly say that the book truly help me. I cried so hard at times while reading it I could barely see the words. But I knew that the author had the same feelings I had and his loss helped me with mine. I found comfort in his words. Of course, the book is also about the joys of loving a dog or dogs and how they become such a big part of our lives.
My tears still come daily, but I know I am not alone in the pain. And there is not one day that I regret that I brought home that cute, little puppy because she gave my family more love and happiness than I ever could have imagined.
