Just as a note of explanation, if animal control is aware of the situation and has not chosen to confiscate the dogs, there isn't much rescue can do about it. While there are many, many dogs that rescue groups would love to just jump in and save from bad conditions, we are still bound by the legal system. A rescue group taking a dog without permission is just the same as anyone else taking the dog - that is stealing. It still won't hurt to notify the group and make them aware of the situation, but just be aware that they might not be able to do anything at this point. It's an incredibly frustrating situation. In many locations, even after animal control does take the animals away, the animals often have to stay in shelters for weeks or months until the case is settled by the courts because animals are considered property.
