Boxer Insane
I just gotta jump in here again..it is just like Julie said, there is no way to know or predict whether a dog will react or not...as I said before to me it is nothing more than a game of Russian Roulette. My first two Boxers undoubtedly had Ace many times because I did not know any better back then and they neither reacted but my luck ran out when we "pulled the trigger" the third time with Jack. He did react and nearly died at the age of 14 weeks. The vet told me that she was going to use morphine for sedation and like a fool, I took that to mean that ACE was not being used...and I said nothing...I still regret not speaking up and saying do not use ACE, but when she said morhpine, I assumed it was not going to be used. BY the time we all "learned" that Jack would react to the ACE that WAS used as a pre-anesthetic...it was darned near too late. Luckily they were able to use Atropine to get his heart started back and regulated. Bottom line, it is up to the owner to decide whether to take the gamble or not, right??? Maybe so, but there will be NO more Russian Roulette with any of MY Boxers again. I don't care what they tell me...NO ACE for us!! djk
