Excuse me, but this just can't happen.:eek: I browsed this sight for 3 months before we got our puppy, and not once did I see any reference to things hanging out of a dogs butt. You couldn't have mentioned this before? You wait until our dog is considered part of the family to bring up this oh so disgusting issue?
And what about the books? The boxer manual seems to have neglected to list this piece of vital information. You would think they could have at least put it in a footnote, small print, something? Sorry, but I am not pulling things out of a dog's butt, or anyone elses for that matter.

No Joke!. I am a new boxer owner and dog owner for that matter and i thought dogs were pretty much plug and play.. I am learning so much from this site and from my pup as well..!!

Yes, we've had the experience of the "Horrified Hangers"!! The first time it happens, you don't have a clue as to what the heck is going on. It can actually be a bit scary because you have no idea why your fur-baby is running like the devil's on their butt. In all the confusion and panic, you spot it. What is that hanging from my baby's butt? Taking a closer look it registers and first reaction is "Ewwww". Then mom/dad mode kicks in and you calm your baby and remove it. Pooch is ever so grateful and in their eyes, you ARE their greatest hero! And then, as you replay what just happened in your head, you laugh hysterically and have to share the story with others!! When it happens again, you will recognize that crazed look in their eyes and the erratic movements while running, and you will know immediately what the problem is. You may even wait an extra second or 2 and watch the Horrified Hanger chase your baby, swinging from side to side, tormenting them (if you have that gene that makes you laugh hysterically at another's demise...so long as it's not a danger of course). There are pics in my gallery of both Xena and Spirit that capture that freaked-out look on their faces...much like the look they have when a hanger is chasing them!
As moosemom said however, please be very careful when pulling a hanger out. You must do it gently and slowly so as not to cause damage to the intestines.

OK, so they have some emergency hotline for this, right?
Maybe 1-800-but-pull or 1-800-but-hang? And they can dispatch someone to the house immediately to take care of the problem?

When and if it happens, I'm sure it will be hysterically funny (for me) if DH has to do it, but I can assure you, if I have to do it, I will not be amused. :mad: I'll be dialing 1-800-dis-gust.

With 3 this happens alot at our house. But just wait until one jumps in bed with you while she is being chased by a cing on. DH took Jazzy outside early in the morning she was acting crazy he came to tell me something was wrong and she ran past and jumped in the bed YES I had to have a shower and the sheets got washed while she rested from the chase. EEEWWWWW!!!!!

Harley runs and sticks his butt up at you right away until you get it out Foreman runs around crazy with Harley it happens so fast if you don't have a plastic bag on you watch out you have to pull it out with your hands yuck.

Dakoda wont stop running away long enough for us to help so it usually falls off by itself.

However, we were at a dog show on Tuesday when this happened to one of the boxer pups. PRICELESS!!! She was jumping around like a bronco trying to escape the hangers evil clutch while the owner kept looking for help. No-one came out with a tissue so it was bare hands and out with it. Funnily enough she won her section, the judge didnt shake hands with the owner though, funny that .
