If she is old enough get some worming medicine from your vet, or at the very least from a Pet Store. The vet stuff is definitely better, as it treats for all worms except Heart, which you need preventitve for. Is she trying to eat grass? Often they will do this when something stomach wise is not right. Make sure she is taking in a lot of fluids until she gets to the vet, and if she dosen't seem to be drinking enough I give mine dialated kool aid about 25% normal strenghth and they really go after it. They also love milk. Be careful though because even if they are taking in a lot of water if they are losing it to fast they can still dehydrate, which woud explain the somewhat inactiveness for a pup.

Like someone else said loose bowels for a pup is not uncommon, but I remember when my girl Stella was sick as a baby a couple times she was putting out bowels that looked like a gel.

Unless you are going to breed or show there really isn't a need for paperwork. Some Boxers do have more squared off heads tha others though, and they don't really get that wide underbite look in the snout till they get a little older. I hope its nothing serious with your baby healthwise, and if you are wanting the paperwork for breeing, unless she is really special leave the breeding to the pros. Not saying you can't breed, but make sure you have some prime blood to work with. In other words go to a reputable established breeder who can at least give you a family history on health back at least to the grandparents. It will cost a little more to get a girl thats prime to breed, but in the end its worth it as you will know you are distributing quality, and you can get top dollar for your dogs.

well, if the AKC is anything like the CKC, then the pet store will not have an AKC registration. The CKC code of Ethics states (pay close attention to #4)

Members when selling or offering for sale (and these expressions shall cover giving, trading, etc. with or without exchange of money) purebred dogs:

1.Shall advertise only factually.
2.Shall cover all transactions in writing with bills of sale reflecting all details thereof.
3.Shall practice no deception of any kind.
4.Shall supply no animals to pet shops, commercial brokers or dealers.
5.Shall supply no animals for raffles, give-away prizes or similar projects

In rescue, I've seen quite a few "registered" and non-registered boxers that I would call mixes who have been sold at pet shops.
Any way you look at it, pet shops are preying on people and pets. They sell dogs for profit not caring about placement of the dogs or the background health of them either.

I hope your little girl is feeling better! I would take her to the vet if she hasn't seen your vet already. Got to be careful with the illnesses, especially because pet shops are notorious for selling sick dogs or having them die while at the store.

Our local pet store finally got closed down. FINALLY after years of their lies and taking advantage of people! They were investigated a few times before finally being shut down and I have heard that they are charging both the owner and vet for the continuously sick dogs sold and dying in the store. (Of course they hid the very sick ones, they weren't in the fancy rooms where the shoppers came.) They even had NO PUPPY MILLS written on their front window, but got weekly, late evening deliveries from the midwest, big trucks full of barking and crying!!!! And out would come crates and crates of puppies!!!

The only way to support the boxer breed is to buy from responsible breeders or adopt. The only way to get a guarantee in regards to health is to buy from a responsible breeder. If we can share that will all future boxer owners, we can save a lot of heartache and slowly close these monsters down.

Update!

I took Sugar to the vet. this morning and found out that she did infact have a parasite. She was given some medicine, and her rabies shot. The vet. said everything else looked good, and other than that she was a healthy dog. Ive noticed her poop has started to thicken up and a little less often. She seems in good spirits but has slept a lot today. As far as rather she is full breed or not, Im only worried about rather or not I was ripped of. Id keep her reguardless as Ive grown attached pretty quickly. Here are a few pictures I could get today for some opinions on her purity.

She is a cutie!
She looks like ALL boxer to me, probably just poor breeding has produced a slightly longer nose. Her parents probably didn't fit the breed standard, but were bred anyway.
She's gorgeous, and glad to hear she is doing much better.

She is probably a purebred boxer, just a poorly bred one. She is still a good looking one.

Good luck with Sugar!

She kind of looks like she could have some other breed in her lineage (especially with her long slender nose) but she is very, very cute! lovicon

Happy to hear Miss Sugar is doing better! Pups do sleep a lot, they are storing energy for their terrible teenage years!

She is adorable by the way...poor breeding is something that can eventually rob the boxer of its breed characteristics. Her color and frame scream boxer, she just has a longer muzzle than some, but she is a doll baby none the less!
Kisses to you Sugar!

I can see why you questioned the purity. Regardless she is a pretty girl, and you should be a proud parent. I would chalk it up as a lesson learned. If you had went to a real breeder there would have been no question. The majority of those pet stores are pure profit driven, and could give a damn about you or your baby. I agree with the previous couple post about she is probably pure just from an inexperienced or didn't care breeder. I am sure she will make a wonderful pet, and you won't even be thinking about this before long.

I have heard plenty of stories about people who bought a dog from a pet store and then found out it was not purebred, often upon confronting the store they will just offer to exchange it for a different puppy. Most of the time the employees know nothing about the breeds they're selling.
I knew someone who bought a bulldog from a petstore that the store claimed was a boxer. They did not return him, they now have a lovely bulldog, but it wasn't quite what they thought they were getting.
Your pup is adorable, love her for what she is.
