Boxer Pal
I have been blessed with a very special Boxer named Kobe. 9 weeks old and full of attitude.
My question is regarding name registration. We decided to find the best breeder we paid quite a bit more than local breeders were charging even for what they deemed "show quality." By the way, I don't care how plain Kobe may be, he is show quality in my book - I digress.
Kobe will not be shown and the breeder was nice enough to allow us to choose the name as long as we included the kennel name. My daughter took this job very seriously but the breeder just contacted me and said no dice. They are taking back the extended generosity and are naming him themselves. I asked whay the change of heart, but was told if we did not like it, return the dog. Even if the breeder was not across the country, I would never return Kobe. I just had a disappointed daughter and a frustrated wife and needed help explaining the situation, as I did not understand it myself.
I really don't care but I wanted to know if this is normal breeder behavior. I am new to breeders and AKC stuff and feel uneducated.
This is an amazing site with some really great people (and awesome Boxers). Thank you.
