Red Irritation on Underside

Today we found a red rash on Bridget's underside in the fold of skin close to her hind legs. It almost looks like diaper rash and is about 4-5 inches in area. It doesn't seem to bother her, but it is worrisome. It is just in that area.

We took her to the vet to check out and she gave me an ointment to put on 3-4 times a day. It is called Animax. She diagnosed it as dermatitis. After she applied the ointment, Bridget seemed irritated and started licking the area. Now it appears even redder than before.

Has anyone had a similar problem?

They use the term "dermatitis" as a broad description of any skin irritation. It could be an allergy maybe? I'm not sure, but if the cream is making it worse then I would stop using it and call the vet again for something else.

Terra had that too and it was allergies. She still gets it once in a while. I use neosporin and it helps.
