Red Eyes

Is it common for Boxers to have bloodshot looking eyes (mostly in the inside corners)? My brindle/white puppy is 10 weeks old and I'm worried that there is something wrong with her eyes.

I think what you are referring to is a membrane that is under the eyelid and sometimes referred to as a third eyelid, you can do a search on third eyelid and get many posts on the topic The bloodshot appearance is normal. :)

re:blood shot appearance

The "blood shot eyes" are really not the eye at all, it is a membrane that is most commonly reffered to as a third eyelid or a Haw, in some dogs this membrane is unpigmented so you can see all the blood in the membrane giving your dog's eyes the bloodshot appearance, alot of times the membrane is pigmented black, so thats why some dogs appear to have red eyes and some don't because you can't see the blood in the membrane of the pigmented ones. I have 2 boxers one with pigmented haws and one with out pigmentation. Everyone always comments on his red looking eyes. they tend to get more red with play. (more blood flow)
