Hi everyone.

Just wondering if it is normal for boxers to get droopy reddish eyes when they are tired?

Chief always has droopy red eyes when he's tired! It gets worse when you wake him up! ;) I believe it's normal!

That's how I can tell if Dakota is really tired.. If they're red he's ready for sleep and if they're light pink then he's good to go!

Oh, Lily is the same way. They not only get all red, but the lower lid sags down and she looks like such a pittiful soul. That's when I can tell she needs to go to bed.

Totally agree with Boxermoments and Lisa...When Frazier is tired he gets the doopy red eyes, bright eyes in the morning when he wakes up....Laila, not so much..always has clear white eyes...I guess some boxers have it and some boxers don't!!!
Don't think it's anything to worry about...

Toby get this too, actually to the extreme! Shortly after we got him the vets office got a good laugh out of me because I called all worried and they told me to bring him in only to realize that it was just a very tired pup after a day of playing out in the yard with me and the toddler! I felt very stupid but releaved.

Cain does not get this so much, just a little bit, but his sister Roxy does. Thats how we tell she is ready for a nap also

YES Dakota gets the very saggy lower lids and when he's slept and refreshed you can barely see in the lower lids.. I think it's nice to have a way to be able to tell if they're tired or not!
