Red Bumps - Question?

I noticed last night that Maddie has some small red bumps that have broken out on her tummy (it almost looks like acne). Also, she has broken out under her chin as well.

We recently switched her food from Canidae to Wellness. She did great on the Canidae, but Wellness is much more convenient to buy. Do you think this could be a food-related allergy?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I am trying to figure out if we should go back to the Canidae.

Also, Dan, if you happen to read this, you ranked Canidae above Wellness in a post recently (in terms of quality). I'm curious to learn if Canidae really is a much better food than Wellness, and why that is...

Just to add to my post:

My local food supply store sells many high quality foods, just not Canidae (I have to get that from a feed store across town, which has odd hours and is inconvenient).

In the event that the Wellness is causing Maddie's "red spots", here are some other foods that I could switch her to, that this local store sells:

California Natural
Sensible Choice
Eagle Pack
Flint River Ranch
Innova
Natural Balance
Royal Canin
Solid Gold

Can anyone tell me which of these is the best quality, or rank them?

well, my vet told me most food allergy declares between toes mostly.

snatch had red bumps 3 weeks ago: it was fire ants :(
after 2 weeks medication, it's all gone.

Chrystel, I've never heard that or seen it with Porter....or any of the other dogs I've known. Where did your vet get the information??? Does that sound right to anyone else? Interesting .

I don't know about the foods you mentioned, Courtney.....Porter gets Nutro Large Breed Puppy. I've never had him on anything else so I can't even compare. :( BUT I can tell you Porter sends hugs Maddie's way and says she should try not to itch.....but if she needs to rubbing her face on the carpet helps!

The bumps...is there a pattern to them or are they random? As with anything, keep an eye on them and get a vets oppinion if they don't clear up with changing the food back. I'm sure you weened her from one food to another but maybe the switch was too fast? Good luck and hugs to your gal!!

My baby also has those red acne like things on his tummy. I think it´s possible that it´s some heat rashes, I don´t know if it´s still warm in Texas.....

I am also going to try the food change but here in Hong Kong there´s not much choices but the big brands ( which everyone says are bad) so I am not really sure what to get him.

Isabelle sometimes gets those after playing in the grass or playing too hard with her dog friends. Just a thought.

Chloe is on Wellness - and is fine (although - she doesn't love it)... But just a though - did you maybe switch cleaning products/ laundry detergent/ new perfume/ christmass tree (my mother's cat is allergic to that one)? Maybe that's giving her the bumps?
