recurrent uti

Codie is 10 weeks old and already on his second UTI. about a week after I got him he had his first uti. I went to the vet he got a shot of penicillin and 10 days worth of clavamox. Now a week after being off the medication he is starting to get a UTI again.

I have him on Puppy chow.. I read alot of places that food can cause UTI's. So I am going to change it. I am going to take him to the vet again tomorrow to get the meds again, but I was wondering if there were any other causes for a UTI. Also he drinks water but not a whole lot anything I can add to it to make him want to drink more.

i just put a post up saying we finally figured out what was wrong with Nero. He did the same thing, infection after infection. It was the food. We started raw feeding him and it has finally went away. I wish we would have done that from day one. It would have saved us so much money at the vet. Good luck.

i switched him to canidae grain free and so far it is helping even through the transition period he has stopped needing to go out so much. I am just glad he caught on to the door being his way out to pee so i haven't had any accidents.... i hope it continues to work... just don't want him in any pain... thanks!@!
