One question I couldn't find the answer to and is mostly a vanity thing...How long with a mother dog continue to recover from having pups? Meaning how long will the skin/breasts continue to tighten up and retreat? She was VERY saggy when I met her 3 weeks ago, and looks much better already, but has a long way to go if she wants to regain her former figure! I'm not expecting her to look like she never had pups, but what could/should I expect? Some people I talked to said she'd always be real saggy, some said she's young enough to recover mostly, although it could take up to a year to do so. What do you think? Best estimates (she was a rescue) is that she gave birth to 6 Rott-mix puppies (good sized pups - were also at the shelter, 2 had perfect Rott coloring) about 8-10 weeks ago. She's tiny, about 17" tall and now 40 pounds (was 33lbs 2 wks ago when I got her), and guessed to be about 2 years old, maybe less. What should I expect for results and is there anything I can giver her or do for her to help? Thanks much!

Anyone have pics of momma Boxers fully recovered?

I think this is an individual type of thing. Like women, sometimes you can't tell if they have kids then there are those that look like they have and haven't had anything. My Tossie looked like she had a bunch of litters when she hadn't had any and then when I got my Abbie, he mother didn't even look like she had pups. My guess would be that only time will tell. I would think nutrition and her overall health when she had the pups, which of course you have no control over.

Kudos to you for rescuing!

no advice but i do think (from seeing the rescues) it is individual to the dog.
