Hey all,

We're picking up our puppy tomorrow and we've got all the necessities except for a chew bone (ie: nylabone). Would I bet able to get some recommended toys for a puppy?

Thanks.

I would get a KONG, they are basically industructible plus you can fill them with treats.

Bully sticks, Kong, non edible durable Nylabones, Hurley bone, Tire Biter, Wobbly Nobbly, raw meaty bones (from the butcher or meat section of the grocery store), deer antlers, good Cuz, all good. I had bought SO many toys made speciflcally for puppies and my puppy could have cared less about them and wanted the big toys for my adult dog not to mention by the time he was 3 months old he needed the adult toys anyway for durability so my recommendation would be to skip the cute puppy toys (which I found out the hard way were a HUGE waste of money), and start stocking up on the durable toys that will last so it can be a one time investment for the next couple of years.

My pup gets bully sticks and raw bones. I also give him a kong at night filled with treats, capped with peanut butter and frozen

Kongs are great. But as far as value for money goes, we haven't beaten the Cuz's (we call ours the devil ball), ours is 4yrs old and is a fave of both our girls and is fully intact and STILL squeaks! Nothing else has lasted that long. You can get 2 sizes, one for when they're puppies and then a bigger one but ours weren't especially interested in the small one.

My mum bought them the soft toys when they were puppies which they liked but you have to watch them if they have those because they will open them up and pull out the stuffing... a few times Kona tried to eat the stuffing which could have made her pretty sick but worse than that... I spent HOURS collecting fluffy innards ;P

They also like the ropes... especially the ones with tennis balls in them too (we had a little monkey that had tennis ball head/body and rope arms) but again, once those teeth get going the ropes come apart and can be dangerous so we never leave our girls alone with them but they have a lot of fun with those.

They also happily chew on carrots and apples which is a super cheap option!

To this day Emma is a big fan of any round toy that can be rolled so she can chase after it. She still has a baby teething ring that she loves to play with but has graduated to a huge Tire Biter which is one of her favorites (they make small ones) that she doesn't like to share with others.

I'd also try to get something cuddly and make sure to put your scent on it tonight, by sleeping with it, so you can give it to your puppy in it's new bed/kennel for comfort.

Congrats and good luck!!
