My Chloe is 15 weeks old. All seemed to be going well but we recently had a houseful of company for two weeks while my boyfriend was in the hospital having had surgery. Well now everyone is gone, he's back home and all is well and back to normal, except Chloe. She seems to have become very rebellious. I realize she is just a puppy but... Yesterday, she peed on the carpet in the family room, while we were sitting right there, I scolded her and put her outside for a few minutes - don't you know an hour later she did the exact same thing! Right in front of us! - she didn't even try to hide it like usual. She used to come if you called her, now she won't come, sometimes she won't even look at you, just ignores us. She knows when she has done something wrong because as soon as you see her she runs like a little bat out of h*ll through the house and hides under the kitchen table between all the chairs. Is this normal - do puppies go through a rebellious period? Could it be from the disruption to the household for those two weeks? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. Kim.

I had many experiences like this...it will get better...I personally went through a few rebellious stages with Stanley and I'm not quite sure they are over yet...be patient! :)

You are definitely not alone. There are stages of rebelion, but she'll get past it. It kind of feels like at 3 or 4 year old testing you, pushing you, seeing what they can get away with.

Rebelion is a stage

I don't mean to laugh, but that reminds of when my little girl would run when she knew she was in trouble. You could just give her a look and she layed those cropped ears back and ran under the bed.
It's just a stage, like everyone is saying. She will grow out of that, and then she will go through a stage where she will have nothing to do with anyone else but you and then she will have one where she will have nothing to do with you. She will not, however, get over the running and hiding when she knows she has done something wrong. My little boy tells me he does something, he comes up a nudges me, and then I go looking for it..he follows me and as soon as I find it, he hides in the corner of the closet. It actually is pretty funny, because he tells on himself.
But your Chloe is just trying to see how far she can push you, just like children. Just keep scolding her and everything will blow over in a week or two. angelicon
