Digital is nice that you can erase easily but at the same time, I think it can hinder your learning because you know if you mess up, it can be easily erased. If you didn't have digital, you would be more concerned about getting the shot right the first time.

With that said, I wouldn't go to film, I would be lost without my digital.

Well I've used Canons since my film days. They are great cameras.

Having said that I went to a Nikon D80 last fall after comparing my EOS to some D80's that other photographers let me try at my last airshow. I just liked the feel and layout of the D80 over the Canon.

For you I'd say buy better glass for the camera you already own. The lens really makes the photo so don't go cheap there. The better the lens the better the photo.
