Hi Everyone.... I'm having more problems with my 1.5 year old boxer Hudson. He has lost probably 5-6 lbs. over the last few months and lately his stools haven't been so great. I haven't been too concerned about that since we are switching his food to "California Natural" from EVO b/c of his sensitive stomach (he didn't do too well on it). But today, he had an accident in the house. And I'm actually glad he did, b/c if he didn't I would have never seen what was in it. (Warning! Graphic details ahead....) In his stool there was a LOT of what looked like strawberry jelly...jiggly clumpy red stuff... there was also this white stringy mucusy stuff about the width of a q-tip. i had noticed a smaller version of this stuff on monday and had a stool sample checked at the vet, and everything came back negative (bacteria, parasites and worms). However today's was a lot worse. He doesn't really get treats, so all he eats is his food. Any idea what could be causing this?

could he possibly have gotten into something he's not supposed to? Sorry, i don't have more to offer  but u can try giving him boiled chicken and rice to calm his tummy. Hope someone else can give u more insight.

Could it have been a tapeworm? I tried Harley on California Natural figuring that because it had fewer ingredients that it would be better for his stomach. He had the worst stomach ache and diarhhea and eventually wouldn't eat it. This was in the changing over period (which I was doing slowly). I had to throw the rest of the bag away. The best food I've tried for him is Nutro chicken and oatmeal for sensitive stomachs. Eukanuba low residue probably worked the best, but he's allergic to fish and that is one of the main ingredients in it.
