hi everyone, I think I have licked my wounds long enough...you may remember me last year (I'm Austin's mom in NC) I tried adopting a sweet boxer girl Jazmine and it didnt work out ...well it wasnt a good match for me. I kept her for about 6 weeks, hoping it would / could work out, but it was an exhausting situation for me not to mention expensive ( she had IBD). I am just this month finishing paying her vet bills, yep...more than 6 months and pretty near 1000.00 to get this settled. I took her back to the rescue ( in Jan) I adopted her from, and cried for what seemed forever. I also felt so bad because I just couldnt keep her, if I wasnt in the vets office on days off, I was cleaning carpet from her accidents. Austin was sad because he couldnt have his regular rawhide treats and forget taking them both on walks at the same time or together in the car...I even got to the point I was to tired to take Austin to this training classes....I still often think of her, and hope she has a good home where she can be an only pet for someone, she did require so much more than I could physically and finacialy afford to give her. I have not heard from the rescue groop since I took her back. So thats why I have been away from the group...it is still hard to discuss her without tears. But I have missed this group so much and do have a question on Austin but will hop over to that forum to post it. And I do hope that the Christmas Card list is done again this year.

Welcome back! I'm sorry you had to go through what you did with Jazmine. You tried your best, and that is the important thing. It takes a lot of courage to admit that it wasn't a good match, and you gave her the best chance to have a perfect fit by letting her go.

Hello to Austin, too!:)

Welcome back! I'm sure what you did was the right thing, even tho' it was tough. As the previous person said it took alot of courage to admit it wasn't a good match.

Welcome back! I'm sorry you had to give your baby back to rescue, but that was the best thing for both of you! Hopefully, he found a forever home as an only dog!

I recently adopted a rescue pup-- he wears me out, and he is healthy! He's perpetual motion all the time--wish I could bottle that energy for myself!
