Storri,

He will eat his food once he gets started, he'll even lick the bowl clean, the problem is getting him started. Maybe I should have mentioned that, hehe, sorry. He will definitely eat something we're eating, that's why I was wondering if he could be fed some of our spices.

He definitely likes raw food, he's just picky. After a day of fasting he'll be begging for those same chicken backs he's gonna refuse two days later of eating 2 meals a day. Maybe I should only feed one larger meal per day?

Susan,

He hasn't been sick, he is a picky eater and doesn't eat a little. He'll be asking for more after eating 17 ounces of chicken backs, twice a day. I like your feeding schedule. I'm going to try the no bone meals with calcium supplements. Which supplement do you use? How much of it? I'm definitely thinking of giving table scraps: veggies, brown rice, meat mixed in with the raw stuff. He just might be a very 'humanized' dog.

Thank you both for your suggestions,

Diego

www.animalsessentials.com has a kelp calcium that my holistic vet likes. also www.halopets.com has a raw food mix with a lactate calcium in it. I use the kelp calcium mostly on the dogs but for my kitties I use both but mostly halo. My vet says our earth is depelted of good minerals thats why she likes then
kelp calcium. The company also has a good herbal vitamin supplement I've seen animals do good on it.
My vet and I know the people who own the company and they are good folk who care about animals.

www.happydogfood.com is a company with two excellent grain mixes. The original mix has a pearl barley, brown rice veggies + it taste really good. I even asked the owner if we could eat it and she said they did so we tried it and yummy. the express mix has oats, barley and veggie +. The dogs love the taste. It's not organic but it's human quality ingredients used.

Hi all,

Thanks for all the advice and tips given. Logan is now eating as he used to. I had to starve him for one day then put some (about 1oz/28grams) of green tripe into his chicken backs and he gobbled them up. I'm also varying his meals more often. In a week he'll get chicken, venison, emu, lamb, and tuna. I'm gonna add sardines this week, he hasn't wanted them for a while. We'll see what happens.

I have noticed that turkey necks upset his stomach to the point he won't eat for a whole day, he won't even beg for our table scraps. So, no more turkey necks for him.

I've bought nupro and missing link to supplement once in a while.

Again, thanks for all your advice.

Hi! I'm no expert, but I posted to someone about peanut butter. If Logan ever gets to where he'll eat, he just doesn't want to get started, maybe you could try putting a small glop of peanut butter just below the surface of the food. Every once in awhile, Brando gets a little treat of peanut butter buried in his food, and it sparks his interest if he doesn't feel like eating. Just a tip...hope it helps if you ever need it.
