Hi everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone out there could help me with this... My little baby Rebel who is 2 has allergies, and he has had a rash under his arm pits and on his the top part of his hind legs.. i guess it would be his knee area, I don't know what to do? they red and itchy, the vet said to try hydrocortisone cream but that doesn't help, the only thing that relieves the itchyness is prednisone but he's so young I don't want to have to rely on this forever but I will if it helps him...another vet said to try baby diaper rash cream that seems to sooth the area but does not get rid of the problem..The skin also has a scaly look and has a dark red tinge to it... Help me please! any one have a suggestion?

they will ONLY eat pedigree lamb and rice....;( i've tried the BARF i've treid the vet recommended food everything we can think of... He's going for allergy testing in january. I hope then we can isolate the alergen and get rid of it...

Oooh. In fact, it's likely that the Pedigree is the cause of his problems. That food has some pretty nasty stuff in it - the sorts of things that make your stomach turn when you know what they actually are. If you're game, do an internet search using the terms "what's really in pet food" and "foods pets dies for" - what you'll find there is VERY applicable to the food you're feeding.

Plus, it uses carcinogenic chemical preservatives - BHA and BHT. The annoyance of having to persuade them to eat something else kind of pales into insignificance against that lot ;)

ah huh

Oh my god, I had no idea!!!

What do you suggest I try? My vet seems to be of no help....I am very diligent in getting them to try new foods, but they refuse and it breaks my heart when I know they are not eating... I am going to search the internet as you suggested thanks for that!
