RARE (vent)

Wednesday I got a local paper that had a Boxer listed in the lost and found section. It was lost and the article read "Missing Boxer, rare, has stripes Name is Tiger."

If color Boxers are sooooo rare why do soooooo many people have them. Rare white, rare stripes meaning brindle, next thing you know they will be saying fawn is rare.

There are tons of adds on the net and everyone has these colors including the kill shelters.

I just want to scream!

Obviously they are not familiar with the breed at all...even though they own one!! Makes me laugh when some people say that Spirit must be a rare breed because of his brindling. Usually a logical explanation is given to them and they are satisfied. However, I have come across some who insist because they KNOW boxers and they tell me I should make sure he's registered and someday I can collect a big buck for him!! :mad:

I have the most beautiful, perfect brindle boxer in the world.

...and because she is Brindle, people often say she must be mixed with a Pitbull! When I explain she is a registered Boxer, they look skeptical, and murmer about the unusual colour for a boxer!!!

That being said, I hope this missing boxer is returned home. Although the owners may not know much about boxers, they love their puppy enough to place an add in the paper.

Heck, I could claim Crystal, at 11-1/2 years old, is a rare silver Boxer
