March 27, 2005 will mark 1yr since Zachary left me. I am truly dreading that day and all the emotions that will resurface. I want to do something special so Zachary knows he will never be forgotten.
What have you done on the anniversary of your beloved pet's crossing?

I remember that day

Christine,
I remember the day Zach crossed all too well. Our anniversary for Titus' crossing won't be until next Dec. 17. His 9th birthday would have been this coming April 6. I plan to light a candle in his shrine next to his ashes and photos. I don't know what else to do, since we aren't exactly "celebrating" the event, just acknowledging him and remembering our loss. I guess you could do that, also. It's really hard, isn't it. I can just think about Titus or look at the many photos I have posted in my office and get tears in my eyes, as is happening now. I'm sure Zach was there to greet Titus at the bridge, seeing as how they met in life!

If you own your home, you could plant a pretty shrub in memory of Zach. Or send a donation to a boxer rescue in memory of Zach.

I did a medical fund in Tazzy's memory when he passed and I will do one every year on his anniversary. It made me feel good that my friends and family loved him as much as me and donate everytime I ask. We also get to choose our doggies to sponsor at Boxer-rescue-la-.com and it's nice to follow their story to there forever home and know Tazzy continues to help needy Boxers. I work with them and know their medical expenses are through the roof as all rescues I'm sure.

You put Bingo's pic on your gallery, he is an amazing boy everyone wanted to adopt him. He went to his forever home, very lucky family that got Bingo.

I like planting a tree or something idea too. When I own my home I will put a tree in his memory and a memorial plaque.

I like that idea...

...Of donating to rescue in the pet's name. When Titus crossed, one of my co-workers made a donation to an organization that assists rescues. I received a card from the organization telling me she had done this. I was quite flattered and have the card in Titus' shrine. I was thinking of donating to our local shelter in my town because they list it in their quarterly newsletter, another nice way of remembering my boy.

Great ideas!! Thanks.
I will sponsor a senior dog, one that wasn't as lucky as Zachary and I will make the trip up to LA Boxer Rescue Kennel and help out for a day.
I feel better already - looking forward to helping out needy boxers - and not having a pity part for myself!

I'm sure your Zach is worth every tear you shed, as was my Tazzy. He will be my soulmate boxer forever and ever. I will wake up everyday and wish I had any amount of time to kiss and hug my boy.

I think spending the day at Boxer Rescue will help alot. I don't cry near as much, and it overwelmed me to see how many beautiful Boxers are thrown away, they will be so grateful so your time and love. Just a few minutes out of the kennel romping around for a walk lifts their spirits.

Make sure we know Zach's anniversary so we may honor his memory on my website. I would love it if you would sign my guestbook and place Zachs Picture there so we can see it everyday.

Leilani-
I signed your guestbook, what a terrific site and a wonderful way to honor Tazzy.
I have told some friends about honoring Zach's spirit by spending the day at the Rescue and they have agreed to join me! As of now I plan on coming up 3/26. Is it okay if I e-mail you if I can't find my directions (I had gone up there to donate Zach's airline crate about 5 yrs ago).
Thanks!

How great! I love when my friends come with me to BRLA. Please contact the volunteer coordinator so they know you are coming and can have you fill out waivers so you have them when you come. Oh course anything you need let me know, directions etc. Thanks for adding your babies to our home on the web.

Tazzy's Mom: There is only one thumb icon, but you deserve two thumbs up!!
Just wanted to say Bless you.. I took a peek at your site.. Hope that was ok..
Such a wonderful thing that you do in honor of your beloved Tazzy..

If I lived closer I'd come join you and go hug some Boxers who are in need of just a little TLC I'll check here in New England to see if there are any Boxer Rescue places that would need some extra help.. even though I can't help very much in giving any donations right now.. As we have some large Vet Bills from Riley's hospital Care.. I could maybe help in other areas..
