Have any of you found an interchangable ring for dogs tags, id and microchip number that can interchange quickly between collars? I would like to find one to use on Sailor, but I hate changing the tags between collars so often. If anyone has seen anything like this or has an idea please share! Thanks!

Why do you change collars so often? My hubby has a key chain that has two ends and they connect in the middle by pushing them together. There is also a keychain that has two ends that connects by screwing them together. Check out key chains. We use them the car keys and mail keys so we don't have to turn off the car to get the mail from the mail box. Hope this helps.

Here is a link for two piece key chain so you can see what it looks like. One piece could go on the collar and the other on the tags. We get them at the local hardware store or anywhere they sell keychains.

Just go down the page a bit on the left you can see one.

nope...

[Would this happen to be Sailor who did a stint at training at the DDTC in dayton?]

Sailor hasn't been through any "formal" training as we've battled demodex off and on for quite some time and he always looked too bad to take to class:rolleyes: until recently! I'm hoping that his immune system is working better for him.

I like to change collars for different moods I guess! Like, he's got a one for the yard and around the house. A nice leopard one for trips in the car and to the pet store and of course Sundays he's wearing his number 8, rooting for Jr.! I have recently seen a few new ones I'd like to get him too.

I also talked to the auditors office about getting a second or third county dog tag and extras can be purchased for .25 a piece. Maybe that would be the best way to do it! Thanks for your help.

I don't keep Cookies tags on her collar as they tend to turn her neck grey. :( So what I did was bought a "snap clip" that I attach to her leash when we go out. It is easily switched to different leashes, short 4' city/store leash, 20' training lead, or if needed can be clipped directly to her collar. You can useally find them around any place that makes replacemnt keys.

Something that is easy to take on and off might be easy to fall off too, so be carefull. If it was me, I would just have a tag for each collar. Someone on here showed me a good site to order tags online www.boomerangtags.com I ordered their plastic tags and they are great. They even let you engrave both sides for a dollar more. They also have collar tags, that slip over the collar and don't use hooks to attach. That might be your best bet if you are looking for just one tag. And if you use a collar with the big plastic snaps they have special ones that will fit those. Just look at the site and you will see. Hope that helps.

we use the key chain that snaps together on both of our girls. they each have 2 collars, a play collar which has their name and phone numbers on them and then their meeting people collars which have their full id tags on. these are the tags they were when we go out ANYWHERE. what we did to keep down on the dangling against their skin and the noise we attached the key chain on the opposite side of the leash hook. we use the nylon "snap collars" - where u push the two black plastic ends together, therefore on one side of the collar (where you can adjust the length)it is double sided. this is where we attach the "pop together key chain" it cuts down on the noise and it doesn't rub against their skin. i hope this helps :)

Cheap, easy and strong. Get a snap hook (like what is on the end of a leash) and a split key ring. Hang the hook on the ring, place the tags on the ring and clip the snap hook on the collar.

It is tough and hard to break and comes right off. Costs less than $3 for the real heavy duty stuff.
