questions about kong?fake?

hi everyone!
i have two questions:

*first, my friend gave me a green kong saying it's fake, and i am sure its fake, is it as good as the orginal one? or is it bad? i am concerned because it has a rubber smell like a new bicycle tire....
should i get and original one?

*the second, how do i stuff the kong? just put some butter inside maybe or other things?
i want him to play with it at least 30 min, because sometimes i am bussy and he wants to play with me.

ps my boxer is 2.5 months old puppy, very active

First wash it really good. I would not stuff anything with butter, peanut butter definately. Do a search on what to fill a kong with, you will find many options.

hi again!

after exploring the kong site i found that there is a special kong stuff in snacks, did some one's boxer liked them? should i buy them? or peanut buter will do?

If you are certain it is a fake, then I would say it's probably safer to toss the thing in the trash and buy a real kong (they're not expensive). If the 'fake' one isn't made of high quality rubber, it may disintegrate (and rubber isn't digestible). Better to know what you're giving your puppy to chew on.

As for stuffing it, you can put all sorts of treats in there. All you really need is something semi-solid like peanut butter for sealing the ends.

Both my dogs hate the treats made by Kong - especially the sticks, they're awful. I agree, why take a chance - toss the green kong and buy a real one. I just have images that the thing was made in china etc....doesn't seem worth the risk.

second, i am planing to buy an original kong, what should i buy? the oroginal kong toy/kong activity ball/kong teething stick or the kong goodie bone?

If you are planning on stuffing treats in it, buy the original Kong. We put anything in there that will fit and use peanut butter to seal the ends. Or you can put yougart in and freeze it to keep the treats from falling out. Bella also likes the Kong with the rope attached to it. But I recommend that one only for outside play because they can fling it around and break something!

peanut butter is great but my critters can suck the peanut butter right out of them in under 2 minutes. specially the two that arent boxers and have those long narrow snouts. i fill three up with peanut butter put them in a baggie and put them in the freezer and the next day it entertains them for a good long while. that and with it being summer they appreciate something cold. they are addicted to popsicles and ice cubes. they'd never had a popsicle before but one of our two that was a rescue well she saw the thing in my hubby's hand and she went completely bonkers crazy and she's typically not a begger for anything treats or attention so it was odd to see.
