I am always a nervous nellie when it comes to my three dogs so please bear with me. I was out in the back with my dogs when Thumper came around the pool limping on her right front leg - it seemed to be her foot. There is no swelling, and it seemed to get better after I restricted her exercise for a few days. Low and behold, she yelped today when my rottie accidently stepped on her foot. I've examined her paw, and can't find a thing. Any suggestions as to what might be wrong? - Cathy

Any swelling? Could be a sprain. They are slow to heal in people and likely in active dogs too.

Maybe worth a call to the vet. For things like this I uaually talk to a vet tech first and pick their brains. The've seen everything and will know if you should have Thumper checked by the vet.

[Austin's Mom]

A couple of years ago Austin banged his back leg playing with his friend Bart. He was fine as long as he didn't run, if he did he would limp again. We had a lot of snow and cold that winter so he stayed in most of the time, gave it a lot of time to heal and by spring he was fine.

Yeah I would wait a couple of days before taking to the vet. She might have slept wrong on it or sprained it. My experience is the limping tends to go away after a couple of days.
