pushing his paw in my face whilst lying down

hi guys,
just a quick question out of general curiosity my dog lies down next to/on me from time to time. every now and then if im talking to him or looking over him he'll stretch out his leg and shove his paw into my face (which is quite cute and amusing).
I was just wondering what he's trying to say by doing this?

He's saying "hi", "I like you too", "play with me"....
Our boxer mix and one of our great danes thump each other upside the head to initiate play. Personally I would NOT like to get thumped as hard as they thump each other, but they seem to like it.
Just watch those paws, never goes well to show up at work with a black eye and try to explain that no, no, really, it was the dog! :D

fred does this too ! or he will get right up close beside me then stretch all four legs out and push me back, charming ... i think im a bit to full on with the cuddles at times and he's like 'muuuuuuummm get off ' x

Odin often paws at me when he wants me to pet him or let him onto my lap. His sister never does this. It is quite cute and enduring but before giving into him he has to sit for a minute or do something else and then he is allowed to cuddle....I think it is sweet

Charlie does a similar act, but adds a tapping and a heavy sigh telling me he wants to play. Hehe. So much personality

Dante doesn't specifically aim for the face, but he likes to hit you with paws just the same. I say it's some typical Boxer behavior. They use their little 'hands' a lot. Yesterday he reached from the living room chair (where he was sitting) to the couch (where I was sitting) and put his paw on my shoulder. .
