My husband and I have had Wyatt for two weeks now and he is almost 11 weeks old. He is very loving and likes to sleep on the couch next to us but he won't PLAY with us! Is this weird? We try to through a tennis ball, kick his kong around, play tug of war, and have him chase us around the yard and house but he seems uninterested most of the time and when he does play he seems sluggish and bored or ignores us altogether. Has anyone else experienced this? WHat did you do? It just worries me that he is bored and feels like he has no one to play with. He plays great with the rest of the dogs in the family but we really want him to play with us too lol! Let me know what you think! Thanks!

Try different toys? Mia like squeakers, so anything that makes noise she is attracted to, her favorite being her hide-a-squirl's.

Some dogs are just more independant. My Diesel is like that. He only deals with humans on his terms! LOL! hang in there your pup will come around. :)

Hang in there, he will come around. Despite how you are feeling, remember he loves you! My older male Merlin likes to play, but on his terms and time, which took a while for us to figure out.

doing much better!

I think he is finally getting the idea lol! He has been playing with us a lot lately! Although I think his sluggishness is due to the heat becuase it comes and goes, i will defenitly talk to the vet about anemia when we go back for more vaccinations. Thanks for all the help!

Yeah, Abbey was like that too when she was young...

...now, she can't get enough playtime from me. I guess some dogs are just play motivated at different times. I was really bummed at first, but she did come around. It really helps too if you can arrange for her to play with another dog. For us that seemed to bring her out of her shell.
