Our Moose died from AS at almost 4 years old, but my fiance wouldn't trade one day he had with him. They were best buddies and we think of him every day when we watch our Rigo doing the things he used to do! I had only been with him about a year, but he is the reason I will never own a dog that isn't a boxer! He knew Moose had AS at a very young age, but it didn't deter him.

Well, we took Ty to the Veterinary Ultrasound Institute last weekend and they said he had a normal echo. They feel that his murmur is either a pediatric murmur, or one he will have the rest of his life. They do not see any signs for diagnosing him with SAS. We were very relieved. We have two opinions labeling it as an innocent murmur, and the original diagnosis of SAS. We are hoping he will outgrow it, however, if he still has the murmur at 1 year of age we will have another echo done with our cardiologist.

Thank you all for your input and support. It was greatly appreciated. We feel better knowing that it is probably an innocent murmur, and are definitely enjoying Ty.

Our first boxer was diagnosed with a mild heart murmur at an early age. In later life she needed medication but even with medication she lived until she was 12 1/2 years old so I hope this gives you something to work on.
Glad you decided to keep Ty. He sounds lovely.
