Puppy with Food and Stomach Issues

Hi - We've had Darwin since he was 9 wks old - he is now 8 mos. old and he has never had a "normal" stool. He was much better younger, but he's getting worse. We switched him from Wellness Complete Puppy to Wellness Core and he was sick with diarrhea for weeks. That was about 1 month ago and he still has not gotten any better; even on boiled ground beef and brown rice. We don't give him treats. He had lost 3lbs but since on ground beef and rice, 1cp of each 3xday, he gained all his weight back and more. He's about 50lbs since 2 weeks ago, but still has diarrhea or soft stool. I don't know what to feed him. My father-in-law insists on Science Diet, but the main ingredient is corn or chicken meal, and it doesn't sound healthy at all.

I wanted to try something specifically for sensitive stomachs since the Vet's check-up didn't find any bacteria in his stool, but have no clue what to try. I can't keep feeding him rice and ground beef forever! Please help!

Oh, I also checked the Food Analysis website, but I can't seem to navigate through it to find a sensitive stomach food.

My pup had diarrhea for two weeks, I switched him to Acana grain free (he was on Blue Buffalo) and I’m feeding him 1 teaspoon of canned pumpkin every meal, 3x per day. No problems with his stools since.

And I’ve read alot on this board and I can tell you that comments from others, Science Diet is crap.
