Boxer Pal
Hello everyone!!
We are new to Boxer World and are looking forward to sharing our story and reading yours. We are a couple who lost our Boxer, Gus, about 6 months ago. Gustus was our precious baby and passed away at age 3 from heart problems. We miss him terribly and know that we need the Boxer spirit back in our home. We have pounded every resource out there to find a healthy, happy puppy and are at a loss. If anyone out there has any suggestions, we welcome them. Located in the Southwest, we are hoping to find a reputable and responsible breeder in our general area....Colorado, Utah, Arizona, etc. Thanks to anyone who may have information.

We're in the Denver area--it seems that there aren't any breeders that are serious about health testing around here. We looked around locally for eight months before deciding to buy from a breeder in Oregon. I've met about ten good looking boxers (ones that fit the breed standard) at various parks and around town, none of which came from in state (California, New Mexico, Nebraska, and even Louisiana are the ones I remember).
It seems kind of extreme to travel to get a puppy, but I'm happy to have one that is likely to be healthy.
I contacted the local boxer club, and while they were nice, they weren't helpful.
I am sorry about Gus and I wish you the best of luck in finding the right puppy!

Welcome!...so sorry to hear of your loss,i know all too well how hard it is to lose your boxer. We lost our first one at one year old,and we could not replace her for 7 years,in fear of the heartache all over again, but finally got brave and we found our mack....so hang in there and you will find the one that's meant for you!!!

Welcome. How about going to a rescue and giveing one of those boxer babys a home. It's just a thought. Both of mine are rescues and I love them to death. Good luck.
