puppy peeing in bed

Help, my pup is 9-10 weeks old and we let her sleep with us in bed but she has been peeing in our bed at the end and walking back up to the top and going back to sleep! We can't crate her because she litteraly screams and has a fit! any idea's? i've never had this problem with a pup!

Please help!!!

You CAN crate her, it's just going to take some time and energy on your part. The biggest thing you have to remember is to not take her out when she's crying. As much as it'll break your heart, you just have to let her cry. We've had it really easy with Chula as far as the crate goes, and I think that may be because in the first few nights, we just let her cry. She has slept through the night ever since.

I know it's hard, but it really is your best bet. Good luck.

She goes in her crate and then lays down in it! Yuck!

Me too

I let my 11 week old sleep in bed with us too. You are NOT ALONE!! haha My husband thinks I have lost my mind! Maybe I have. I do not have a problem with him peeing in the bed. I am very light sleeper and I wake up when he starts to move around and then we go OUTSIDE... The only reason I do not crate him at night is becasue my husband couldn't stand to hear his cries. He has to wake early. Sleep is not someting my husband could sacrifice! I have two sons so I know all about sleep deprivation!! haha I do crate him during the day for a few hours at a time and cries initially, but as soon as I walk in the door he is quiet. Sorry I don't know about the bed wetting except maybe if you can use the crate at night (if your husband can go without a few nights of unsound sleep!).

Tough Love

I know it is painful to hear them cry so hard. Our puppy, Happy, is 8 weeks old and threw such a fit when she was in her crate at night I thought she was "posssesed"! NO KIDDING!!! But we have put our pilows over our heads and just lived through it for about two weeks now and she sleeps through the night now and her crate is perfectly dry. The Vet told me NOT to put anything soft in there for two weeks and that seemed to really work.
Hang in there and let her cry, in the long run you will be much happier and so will the dog!

Crate training your puppy its not as bad as you may think. You know I got extremley lucky, I gave Oscar a VERY stern no one time and that was it. I put him in the crate as a puppy and he adopted well to it (You results may very) 95% of the time he goes to his cage with not issues and just huffs at me and takes a nap. Now if there is alot going on he gets excited and he wants out but what do you expect from a kid.

As for the peeing in the bed, it happens. You need to weigh your options. I think you will find its best to crate train. Also you will find you will need to do 1 of 2 things in the future. Either get used to sleeping in the fetile position or get the dog a dog bed because they sure do love to stretch out. Mine wont sleep anywhere without a pellow.
