Duke has been crated during the day while I am at work for a week and half now. The first 3 days were good, besides the whining. Now he does #2 in his crate, but holds his pee until I get home. Has anyone experienced this? I let him out every 4 hrs at lunch and when I get home at 530. Let me know what you guys think! Thanks.

Brian,
Does he have run of the entire crate? If he does he may use one end to go to the bathroom and the other to sleep. If you block it off it would help. Just a thought.

Hello to all with new puppies!!

I have a new fawn male boxer who is now 10 weeks old. His name is kahlu'a. He is sooooo bad!! Loves to bite on everything. He will start his training in 2 weeks. My question is do you find that youe pup has such senative stomachs? He is itching really bad but I know he doesn't have fleas. What could it be? I will post his pics soon!!! I did use the crate for him and it worked out well until he went for a visit to grandma's and she never used it!! So now he just can't stand it. But he does sleep on the floor next to us on a bed..............Dolores................

Epdjr,
He does have run of the entire crate, but he is just not doing #2 in an isolated area. When I come home he has it all over the crate! From front to back! He holds his pee for the 4 hrs which is good, but not his poop! I was going to get a divider but the first week went pretty good, until this #2 stuff.

Brian,
I think I would still try the divider. It may be that he always goes in one corner but then gets to running around in there since he has so much room and tracks it everywhere. A friend of mine recently got a new pup and a divider came with the cage and he has never had an issue with it. I also never had an issue with Harley after I put in the divider. He was so small it almost looked like he didn't have any room LOL. After he was house trained we took it out and haven't had an issue since.
