Luka is officially 4 months old today!! Woo-hoo! But hes still *really* small. I knew when I got him that his sisters were at least an inch taller than he was..But I just expected him to be a *bit* bigger than he is now... Did anyone else have this same thing with their boxers? Did they have some sort of growth spurt towards the end? Telling him that hes a Great Dane isnt helping either  Of course if I wanted a great dane I would have gotten one..Just like people who are breeding Larger Arabian horses because they want a bigger horse...want a big horse DONT GET AN ARAB! sheesh people. woah nellie..way off topic
Anywho...Maybe I'll go get a cake for him...help him eat it tee hee hee, another slice please!

In the next few months, your baby will do a lot of growing. Be sure to take pictures, then you can track his growth at different ages. Boomer weighed 25 pounds at 4 months, and he has gained 42 pounds in the six months since then. You'll be amazed at the size of Luka's rib cage in a few months...not to mention how strong he will be! Keep us posted.

If he's still small at 2 years of age; then you have to worry. They grow and grow at different stages up til around 2 years old.

A smaller boxer??? What a cool thing.. someone that won't step on your entire body and not hurt as much.. You might want to count your blessings. They think they are lap dogs you know....................................

I have the opposite problem. My Boxer is HUGE for her age. I was hoping for 60lbs max at full growth. HA! I have a feeling she will be a 75 pounder. I had her on puppy food and have just recently changed her to large bread puppy food. I wish someone had told me about large bread puppy food from the beginning. It has less fat for slower, healthier growth. If I remember correctly she weighed in at 33 lbs when she was 3-1/2 months old. She is now almost 4-1/2 months old and I'll bet she has hit the 40 lb. mark. Would love to know how much other Boxers weighed at this age and what their weight at full growth is so I can get an idea of how to judge.

Peggy - Fred is right on the same track. He weighed in at 32.5 lbs at 31/2 months and has been averaging about 2lb growth a week. We've had him on Nurto large breed puppy formula from the beginning - hasn't slowed him down yet. We go through one of the 20lbs bag of food in a little less than 4 weeks. Our vet is guessing between 80-90lbs at full growth. The thing is though - it seems to be just solid muscle (which weighs more anyway). I know he's getting big because I can barely life him anymore!

It's interesting to compare Fred's growth to Henry's. Henry weighed in at just under 20 lbs at 3 1/2 months (where Fred is 32.5lbs) and was a little over 60lbs when he died at 10mos old. Kind of scary if that growth pattern holds up!!

Digger just got weighed in for the first time at 9 weeks and he weighs 9 pounds. The vet said he looked a little skinny. If you guys are saying that your weighed 33 or so pounds and 3 1/2 months then he will triple in size in less then 5 weeks? WOW.........

Cajun was about 25 pounds at 4 months. He just turned 10 months and is now 67 pounds, so you should see a pretty good growth spurt in the next few months.
