Boxer Pal
Hello everyone,
My family will be recieving a new addition, a female boxer puppy. i am just curious as to what type of food is best to begin with an 8 wk old puppy. I do not know whether to use soft, or hard, or even liquid. Also I do not know what brand of food to buy. I am just looking for the best suggestions, not best price. If something worked for you, please let me know.

You should choose a high quality kibble for your pup if you do not intend to feed a BARF diet. There are many resources here at BW which can direct you to finding the best food for your pup.

As for feeding, a kibble will need to be soaked in warm water until softer for a puppy. As he grows you can then stop soaking the kibble and feed dry food. Can food may have somewhat higher nutitional content (percentages), but is also has a lot more water and isn't as good for a dog's dental hygiene as dry kibble or BARF.

Use the search button here at Boxerworld and use search terms such as "feeding" and "best food" and you'll find lots of useful information. Also, see the puppy section ( http://www.boxerworld.com/puppy ) for further information on feeding and raising a pup.

And another which will help you read dog food labels.
