My vet told me last week that she thinks my 14 weeks old puppy has ectopic ureters. Has anyone heard of this condition/had experience of it? There is a surgery that can be done but the success rate is not good, it is only 50/50 chance of success, something which my vet failed to tell us. It is also very expensive running into 4-figures. Our main concern is that it is also very invasive surgery plus they want to do it when she is 5 months old.
At the moment she only leaks when in a deep relaxed state - i.e. when asleep. At other times she is doing well with house training. WE cannot tell without a specialised x-ray procedure exactly what is wrong. At the moment she is on an extended dose of antibiotics.
Any advice/help most appreciated.
