Puppy biting....solution?

Nearly ever since we got our Hendrix he has been biting us when he gets excited.........I guess he thinks its a game! (not fun for us!) Anyway, my trainer suggested a solution that worked for her, and I've been trying it over the past few days and I think it's working! So I thought I'd share it.............I apologise if similar threads have been posted.

I gave Hendrix's fav toy a name.............he has a duck toy we call "ducky". I taught him the name by using it when I was playing with the toy with him. Now when he gets over excited and starts biting I say "where's ducky, go get ducky" and so far he has run off to get his toy. This way he is still playing and chewing on something other than me!

I'm so excited that this may be working I just had to share!

That is a great example of redirecting non-acceptable behavior to a better alternative. Thanks for sharing.
