Hi Guys,

I have a quick question. Maybe you guys can help me out. I have a 9 year old poodle. And a 3 month old boxer puppy, both are females and the poodle is spayed. My boxer is soon to be spayed as well. The only problem is that the puppy wont leave the poodle alone. She chases her and makes her hide. Once, the puppy cornered the poodle and she snapped at the boxer. I had to bring the puppy back downstairs. I spoke to my vet about this and he told me its normal, because shes young and is looking to play. I just dont wont this to get worse as the puppy gets older because she will be 3 times the size of the poodle. I guess my poodle is to old to play. Shes not aggressive at all. Perhaps not socialize will. Although, shes 9 years old she still loves to play and chase her ball and run around like a nut. Hopefully they will get use to each other. I treat them both the same. Its so funny because when the puppy is sleeping in her crate she knows to come downstairs and roam, like its her time now. Hopefully someone can recommend something for me.

THANK YOU

Boxer Insane
I've had Stella for 9 months now (she's 11 months old) and when we brought her home she started going for Jack, my 6 yr. old lab. From that time until just recently, whenever she was loose with him she would be pestering him to death! I just made it a point of keeping them apart (except I do walk them together in the morning) or keeping Stella on a leash whenever Jack is inside. Gradually she has become less demanding of Jack, and Jack is a little more accepting of her. they even run together some in the yard now. Eventually I figure they will be able to be together all the time without Stella leashed or crated.

Harley did that with Jake. Poor Jake never got a moment peace. Jakey was older and so quiet and subdued - he was no longer the bouncey hyper boxer he used to be, so all of that new puppy energy was just annoying to him. Harley is just over 8 months now and we are hoping to get another boxer in the summer, I know Harley would welcome the playing a new puppy would do because he is still full of spunk himself.
