Pup loves to dig in yard!!

Does anyone know how to prevent a boxer puppy (3 mo. old) from digging holes in the yard? Our boxer has started digging to the roots of our bushes.

I would just say good luck as digging is a natural instinct to dogs. I will be following any suggestions given as well if we get a problem like that. I hope someone will have some advice to offer you

From what I've seen, the best bet is to give your puppy a place where he CAN dig and it's OK. It's exactly what sullivanpop's wife did.
Perhaps he's also digging because he's bored? Make sure he has plenty to do. A tired boxer isn't as likely to dig as a bored one.

Mine too...

Roxy loves to dig. I will turn my back for a couple seconds and she is elbow deep in a hole, or more like a trench. She quit doing it for a couple months and just recently began doing it again. Whenever we go out back she goes straight to her newest dig site. I will be watching for suggestions also.

If you use the search engine, you will find many previous threads where advice has been given before. Most effective is to give the dog a place where it can dig, and to train it to dig only there.

I've never tried it, but a friend of mine sprinkles a little bit of pepper in the spots near her bushes. When they go to smell, they don't like it and don't want to dog there.
