It's for relieving diarrhoea? If so, toss the pumpkin seeds out for the birds and get some actual pumpkin

There is no need for it to come in a can - fresh pureed pumpkin will have exactly the same effect. Just buy a pumpkin or squash at the supermarket, take it home and put the flesh into a blender. Then you have pureed pumpkin, identical to that which comes in a can.
Pumpkin is one of those handy vegetables that can be used for both firming or loosening stools - it all depends on doesage as to which effect you get (note: this doesn't apply to diarrhoea caused by protozoa or other bugs, just to general upset tummy/digestive system). 1 tablespoon daily will firm up stools, 2+ will loosen them (handy to know should you ever have a dog with constipation).
