Where do you buy your food? I have never heard of some of these dog food names. I normally shop at the grocery store or the farm store. I don't feed him any table food and my daughter bought him some doggy snacks and after a few he got sick. Come to find out they were chicken flavored, pizza flavored and fish flavored. He has a picky tummy. Diverdiva you said that yours was about 55 lbs can you see his ribs. The vet told me to watch the back tail bone area and if the area between the top of his back legs (hipbones) should be slightly lower then the top of the bones. If it sinks down to far then he is not eating enough and suggested that I feed him that much. Maybe I will try to cut it down to 4 cups but I don't want him to be hungry where he starts eating everything in site. They said that full grown he should be about 80lbs. I picked the biggest one in the litter go figure. I will have to find a good picture so you can all see my gus. Thanks

I feed my 60 lb boxer 2 cups at morning and 1 cup at night and she does fine. Any more than that causes the vomiting problem for her. Also try anything that is made to play with that is called KingKong. That is the only thing we've ever found that our former lab or any of our dogs can't destroy and they are great for putting peanut butter in to give your dog a task too.
