Pug

Hi there, I guess if I'm devoting so much time bragging about my 4 month old boxer Sid, I should probably give some props to my 5 year old pug too huh?

Cajun is a black pug who is 5. He's the funniest dog ever. Unfortunately, he has recently been diagnosed with Pug Dog Encephalitis. Basically, this is swelling of the brain causing seizures. It is fatal, there is no treatment. He is on phenobarbatol to help with the seizures. We are just enjoying our time with him while he's still here.

Its one of the hardest things to decide when the time is right to euthanize. I just dont feel that he has gotten bad enough yet. He still has a good life, is still playing with the puppy, eats, sleeps, poops, and plays.

Anyway, I think i just have a soft spot in my heart for these little squish faced mutts!

I am so sorry to hear about your pug. I have a pug also, he is 5 going on 6. He is the joy of my life, and he has an amazing personality! I love the pug / boxer combo, they are the best of friends. There are a few pics in my gallery, but I have to post more of just Rigg's (pug). There is a site just like this for pugs, if you do a google search for pug village, you should be able to find it, and hopefully get some great advise. Best of luck, keep me posted!

Thanks for the Pug village tip. I'm a member already, and have been for the last four years. I haven't been active much. I researched all the PDE info there as well as the PDE affiliated website. Lots of information. It is very sad that he is going through this, but with me being properly educated, hopefully it will help with the hard times.

I am glad you are a member, I don't go on the site too much, mostly to look at the pic's! I am sure when the time comes, I will be on there for help and advise! I am sorry again for your baby, hopefully everything works out in your favor. I know about not being educated enough!!
