I have just become the owner of two wonderful "little" boxers. They are Lloyd and Harry, and they are 11 week old brothers. I was wondering if there was a weight scale that they should be following as they get older? I am also a first time puppy owner (my husband wanted 2). If there is any advice that anyone can give me about anything, I'd appreciate it!

Welcome to the boards. Two pups! That's a hand full. Congratulations. I'm sure you're gonna have twice the fun too. :)

As far as weight goes, boxers vary greatly in their size. But being litter mates, yours will probably be close to the same size unless one was a "runt" and one was much larger than the other pups. You can get a general idea of their adult size by looking at the parents. Otherwise, there's really no way of telling how big they may get until they get a little older.

I have two boxers. Maggie is 10 months old, weighs 55 pounds and is still growing. She's going to be a fairly large girl, I think. Susie is 2 years old and is only 50 pounds and is petite. She probably isn't going to grow much more and is on the small side of the boxer size scale. So, it is hard to tell.

The general "average" for boxers is about 65 - 70 lbs for males and 60 - 65 lbs for females.

Hope this helps. Again, welcome to the Boxerworld forums.

Hi! Congrats on your new boys! I am also new to the forum and just brought our new addition (Tyson, fawn boy) home two days ago. I have heard that when your puppy is 6 months old, if you double their weight at that time, that is a good estimate of what your dog will weigh when he is an adult. I don't know if it works or not. Tyson is 12 lbs, at 8 weeks. He was one of the bigger pups out of the litter. I don't know how you handle two pups?! Tyson is full of energy! Now I understand the saying "a sleeping boxer is a good boxer"! Good luck with your new babies!

Welcome to the boards! I have two furbabies, a 4 year old and a 1 year old...
The 4 yr old weighed about 42 lbs when we came home from college, and 2.5 years later he's up to 74 lbs. He was 2 when we came home and from what I understand the Boxers have their last growth spirt at 2-3, (and usually calm down a bit after 2-3 yrs old).
Hook is done growing, Day has another year or so, and at 13 months old she is 50 lbs.
I guess it all just depends.

I hope to hear some great stories about your new additions!

puppy brothers!

I also have two brothers that are 10 mos old! I will tell you it is twice the fun and twice the work!!! I love them both so much and wouldn't have it any other way. They are the best of friends and sometimes I stand in awe at how much they love each other. When I'm in the field letting them run, Booder will run another direction and Barley will follow...They always have to know what the other one is doing!!! It's so awesome to watch them play together. Sometimes they do have a fight or two, but the love they have for each other is much stronger then any old stupid fight. Booder weighs 66 pounds at 10 mos...and Barley weighs 64 pounds...their daddy was a big guy at almost 80 pounds. I don't think mine will reach that weight but they are big lil guys! I also have a 5 yr old Brindle who just adores his two lil' brothers!...Good luck with your twins!! and stay with the Boxerboard here-I have LEARNED so much since I signed up! Take care, Jicksies
