Protects My Wife Over Me

Boxer Pal
Can anyone help me out? My 70lb female boxer, who I love so much, is always barking at me when she sees my wife and I together. We could be wrestleing or just hugging, my boxer goes crazy. This also happens when my daughter goes to hug my wife as well.

If we are hugging, she will try to separate us by pushing herself in between us. She is so gentle and loving, but when it comes to my wife - no one is allowed near her! NO EXCEPTIONS!

WHY!WHY?

My wife and I are curious to know! We also have a black and white male (purebread, contrary to the belief that boxers cannot have this mix) who is only 30lbs.

a jealous boxer:D

I am sure someone will give you a more appropriate answer but here's my experience:
Krose sometimes makes a good point by barking when me and my husband argue. He barks like crazy and it is time off for me and Baris. He is like a referee you know;)
It is almost the same when we cuddle and hug each other only this time, he wants to be a part of it. If we're hugging, he wants to be in the middle, hugging both of us. If we're cuddling, he wants to cuddle with us.
Maybe your boxer wants to be where the love is:D

Okay, you might laugh here but I took my female Boxer Lucy Annabel to an animal communicator and one of the questions I asked was why Lucy barks and carries on when my husband and I hug. She told the animal communicator that for dogs, hugging is an aggressive action and frankly, she'd prefer we just do that sort of thing in the other room.

I don't really have any answers for you but our boxer Ally(2yr old female) will do this also when or if we wrestle, she'll bark and seperate us. It's actually pretty cute. I think she see's it as aggressive behaiour towards each other, even though were just playing around.

In regards to the post from Mugsy about fear aggression, our girl has fear aggression aswell, she's good with all dogs that she knows but is very testy to dogs that she has never met before. it can be stressful at times. I kind of agree with your husband though, I think you guys are capable of overcoming the problem with some work. I know i'm gonna read up and try my best.
