I just wanted to add, my dogs only bark like crazy at sales people. Anyone else it's just a couple to let me know since I'm usually in the other room. And they know when it's the pizza man even though they never get any, they don't even bark once at him anymore they just whine. There just must be something about people trying to sell something they don't like. :)

So far Willis is the worst watch dog ever.... which is just fine by me. He misses the doorbell all the time (and I do too if I have the TV on too loud...) the other day my dad called me on his cell phone to tell me that he was waiting for me to let him in. Neither Willis or I noticed! If the doorbell does ring, Willis runs to the door to give wiggles. Although no one has come to the door that we don't like yet, so maybe he just hasn't figured it out.

As for watching out the window, he has started doing this all the time. However, he doesn't really look like he means business with a stuffed platypus hanging out of his mouth :p

still waiting

I've been hoping that Brutus will become a little more protective. So far, every time he sees someone new or any other animal whatsoever, he runs up to them and greets them with nubbin wiggles and kisses. If the doorbell rings, of course, it's someone that's come to see him. I love the fact that he is a friendly dog, but sometimes I worry that he may be a bit TOO friendly.

Our boxer doesn't park when people come to the door, but our toy poodles sure do.

I have had people enter my home, ( invited in of course), unconcerned about the barking, bravely confronting the poodles... but I am quite certain a few of these people almost pee'd their pants when they saw my boxer excitedly coming to greet them.

(If you don't know dogs, a boxer prancing over to you in full wiggle mode, with her tongue hanging out would probably be intimitating!)

:D LOL that is SO funny!
Luka has just now started barking at the door- it's horrible, I hope he doesn't get into the habbit. We went on vacation and stayed at a hotel- one time when someone passed by our room, Luka let out a growl so fierce, I was almost afraid!

Mario has a *very* intimidating bark and growl that he reserves for just about any male (human) that walks past our house, or cars that come in our driveway. But, I still have to wake him up when I come home after working late to let him know I'm back.
