Professional Pet Photographs

I was just wondering if any of you have had your boxer professionally photographed. I just made an appointment today to get pictures done of me, Mike and Striker, some of just me and Mike, and some of just Striker. So.....I am wondering if Striker is going to stay still, and how they handle the dogs. It is a private photographer, I don't know if he has any staff there or not. He has been doing this for 37 years, so hopefully he knows what he is doing.
Also, Striker is a little leary of some older men, and this guy speaks a little funny and fast, foreign accent, so it will be interesting.

Let me know what your experiences have been.
I know Robyn had pictures of Cooper taken that turned out well.

We wanted Nikki in our engagement pictures, but the photographer was not to happy. He took some (3), But said he prefered to have just Rob and I in the picture.
Poop on him. :p

My husband and I had our picture professionally taken with Lexus. Lexus was in atleast one picture of each pose. She did great and the photographer would get her attention by squeaking a little toy. Actually, she probably looked the best. It might help if you can have someone there to hold the dog, etc, when they aren't in the picture. Our were in the family backyard so we had lots of help.

Our son is a professional photographer, so Buddy has had many photos taken alone, and with us. It does take a very patient person to do the photos, and they have to have a quick draw on the picture button. Whenever our son has done canine photos, he spends a few moments with the dog building a bit of a trust with them before he shoots the pics. With Buddy, we had to hold on to him the first few times as he tended to lunge at the flash. Now he's a regular ham in front of the camera. As soon as he sees the drop sheet on the ground and the camera, he strikes a pose! Take along some of your pets favorite toys for the photographer to work with, as well introduce the dog and photographer when you arrive, as you don't want an intimidated person shooting the photos. Hopefully he has an assistant who can work behind him with the toys, so that he can concentrate on snapping the photos only. Good Luck, I'm sure it will go well.

We had Daezee's done when she was about 4 months old, I am going to have them done again soon, now that she is older. I have to tell you, it is the best thing I have done with a pet. Not only do you get a wonderful picture of your pet, it is a great way to have photo's that will last for ever and really compliment your pet, even after they are gone. My apartment looks like a Daezee shrine cause they did such a great job that we couldnt decide which to buy, so we got them all and have them all hanging on the wall!
