Price per pound?

What is normal to pay per pound for chicken? I know it varies by area but I am just trying to get a general idea. I found chicken leg quarters for 0.39 a pound is this good? Is it okay to feed leg quarters instead of wings and necks? I can't find necks in my area and wings are 1.04 a pound.

I pay 39 cents a pound for necks and backs. I really do not give to many legs since the bone is harder. I go to the grocery store and talked to the butcher he just calls an order in when I need it so I get a case which is around 30-40 lbs then I come home and break it up for a one day supply I have 3 dogs so it is easier for me your grocer should be able to help. they will most likely help you if you take it by the case. I also get liver and gizzards from them. that I only get by the package.

$1.04 per pound for wings is *cheap* - they're $2.29 here, $1.99 if you buy them in bulk.

Hi! Not to change the subj. on price per pound, but where else can I get chicken necks or backs? I only have major grocers around me. I know Wal-mart doesn't do that, but I still need to call Kroger, and Randalls to check. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!! I am new to the whole BARF thing and would really like to switch my babies!

Try poultry processing plants or restaurant suppliers, these may not be listed in your yellow pages. Around here the entire phone book is about 150 pages, so the yellow pages is very limited.
