Boxer Buddy
Hi Folks,

My girlfriend and I adopted Katie, a 7 week old mix in Feb. We got her from a BYB who's in heat bitch made the great escape and ended up with a litter. She is a beautiful brindle boxer in every way except her nose is a little long for a boxer. We have close friends who rescued a boxer which is what drove us to want one, but I have to admit that I had no idea what we were getting into before we got Katie. I have always been a Lab owner and they are pretty low maintainence compared to what we have expierenced so far.

My point in the midst of all of this rambling? I have been reading these forums since day one, and I don't know what we would have done without all the information we have gotten here. I've seen the desperation posts from new boxer owners second guessing their decisions and wondering what they have gotten them selves into. We were there many times on many issues and I could always find the ifo I needed here.

Bottom line, we have a very well adjusted, crate trained, no biting, learning not to jump, 95% house trained, healthy, 5 month old bundle of joy. We don't know what we would do without our Katie. Anyone who visits our house is immediately in love with her.

Thanks for having such a great place to learn about the best friend known to mankind. When I first got to this site I thought some of you were a little nuerotic about your pets, now I understand and consider myself one of those nuerotic pet owners.

Thanks for the support!

Hi, welcome to the party. So, you thought we were a little neurotic, how 'bout paranoid? Can you say obsessive? We're guilty on all counts, plus others.

Now, you know why. It's highly contagious and is carried in the heart and spirit of a Boxer. It is generally caught by those who have more than casual contact with the carrier. There is no known cure, nor would we take one if there was.

It's symptoms are that warm, fuzzy feeling when you see a Boxer. The feeling is usually accompanied by a smile and sometimes a melancholy feeling for those who are no longer with us.

Your life will be changed in ways you wouldn't have believed. Isn't it nice to know you aren't the only ones?

There's just something about them.
