Hi my Diesel is 7mos old and did really well with potty training but he still will pee in the family room (the room with the door he uses to go outside) when no one is watching or when he is anxious. I know he's still a puppy but when does this stop? And is there any thing I can do to help stop it??
Thanks

Given that it is the room with the door, could he be waiting at the door but no one sees him so he resorts to peeing inside? If so, could you give him another way to alert you? I trained my girl to ring a bell to go out because she would just sit at the door waiting, and sometimes I wouldn't notice.

How did you do that?

Yes, please tell us how you trained your dog to ring the bell to go outside. I would love to know that. Jasmine has done really well wiht housebreaking but she will still have the occasional accident in front of the door. She seems to have a really small bladder - is that all boxers, or maybe because she's only 6 months old?

I trained Roxie to ring a bell. Basically everytime we went outside I would take her paw and make her hit the bell and then I would say "outside" or "potty". You have to make sure you make the dog hit the bell EVERYTIME you go outside whether it is to go potty or to just play outside. They will eventually pick it up.

That is a WONDERFUL idea! Thank you for sharing!

Wow thanks. I'm going to go bell shopping this week. Now I just hope he doesn't eat it....
Thanks so much.
