Why is it everytime it rains or storms she has to go potty?
We had a pretty bad t-storm here today and I couldn't take her out when I got home. Daisy just sat by the door with this pitiful look on her face.
She had to go on the floor twice because I couldn't take her outside. I'm afraid I'm going to mess up her potty training because I'm not taking her out when she tells me she has to go.
Should I get those puppy pads for emergencies like this? Will that just confuse her more? She's 14 wks if that makes any difference. :)

Thanks!

Kim-
I know what you mean. We're in Iowa (probably got the same storm you did today!) and I'll tell a quick story about the last big rain we had (about 3 weeks ago). Moon is now 15 weeks and it was raining so hard it was scary when he woke up after sleeping all night long (and thus having a very full bladder). He just whimpered and danced around looking outside. So finally my husband donned a raincoat and ran him outside, put him down and Moon promptly ran back up the back porch steps yelping and carrying on like he was melting! So my husband carried him down again and finally Moon understood that the faster he did this, the faster he could get dry. So he peed fast and ran up the stairs (into my waiting arms, towels, snuggling and all!).
I too was thinking, well he could have just gone inside, but he refused and it turned out better for him to have just rushed him outside and then dealt with a soaking wet puppy! I don't think you'll have any long-term potty training problems but I completely understand your concerns and I know some of the more experienced boxer owners will chime in with great advice! Good luck (and stay cool in this sweltering heat!).

imo, opinion the pee pads do actually just add the possiblility of confusion. however, if there are no other alternatives, then perhaps using them might be a good idea for your situation.
is there a potty training schedule that you can place your dog on?

If I am home and I know it's going to storm I take her out before the storm arrives, then again after it's gone. She has no problem going out in the rain. It's just that yesterday I got home from work right in the middle of a REALLY bad storm. She knows that when I get home, we go out to potty. But when I didn't take her out, she just sat at the door like, "hello...I have to go potty!". :)
She is good at holding it the second half of the day so I know she really has to go when I get home. I was just worried that she would stop letting me know because I missed her cue.
